It might have been President Obama’s big day, but his second inauguration was also a big moment for Kelly Clarkson.

The American Idol not only wowed the crowd (and Senator Chuck Schumer from New York) with her rendition of “My Country ‘Tis Of Thee,” but got a chance to attend the Inaugural Ball with her fiancé Brandon Blackstock.

Throughout the day she kept her fans up to speed, tweeting behind the scenes photos and tidbits.

She also shared her thoughts on her big performance, which had her battling not only her nerves, but also the frigid temperature.

In the end, she got a big thank you from Obama and the perfect photo opportunity.

Singing at the swearing-in ceremony not only gave her a chance to meet Obama, but to hang out with Beyoncé, who performed the National Anthem. And yes, it turns out Bey is as beautiful in real life as she is in all those photos.

Later in the day, Kelly switched outfits and made her way to the ball, which, as she showed, was no easy feat.

Once she made it to the festivities, she got a chance to show off her floral gown and her handsome fiancé, who didn’t look too shabby himself.

But when the whole night was said and done, she helped confirm what we already knew about the First Lady.

There was one photo though that she didn’t share when the whole night was all said and done: Bill Clinton’s photobomb.

A picture from ABC News shows the former President peeking his head out to better see Kelly as she gets ready to sing.

We hope this one makes its way into her photo album.
