It might have been President Obama’s big day, but his second inauguration was also a big moment for Kelly Clarkson.
The American Idol not only wowed the crowd (and Senator Chuck Schumer from New York) with her rendition of “My Country ‘Tis Of Thee,” but got a chance to attend the Inaugural Ball with her fiancé Brandon Blackstock.
Throughout the day she kept her fans up to speed, tweeting behind the scenes photos and tidbits.
She also shared her thoughts on her big performance, which had her battling not only her nerves, but also the frigid temperature.
Wow ....I was incredibly nervous and cold ha! I just wanna officially thank President Obama for opening for me haha! Just kidding :)

In the end, she got a big thank you from Obama and the perfect photo opportunity.
Maybe the coolest photo I've ever been in ....ever :) http://t.co/t4WlQI1J

Singing at the swearing-in ceremony not only gave her a chance to meet Obama, but to hang out with Beyoncé, who performed the National Anthem. And yes, it turns out Bey is as beautiful in real life as she is in all those photos.
Me and B just hangin' out ....don't worry about it. Seriously, God did good. She is so beautiful! http://t.co/zoo1OaA8

Later in the day, Kelly switched outfits and made her way to the ball, which, as she showed, was no easy feat.
My dress barely fit in the car for tonight's festivities. I feel like Cinderella! Thank you Oscar De La Renta! http://t.co/hmZWfqso

Once she made it to the festivities, she got a chance to show off her floral gown and her handsome fiancé, who didn’t look too shabby himself.
Me and Brandon in our "fancy" attire :) Fun night! http://t.co/6cl1lo4G

But when the whole night was said and done, she helped confirm what we already knew about the First Lady.
Just partied at the White House ....I kid you not, Michelle Obama stood up and got the party started ....seriously cool First Lady :)

There was one photo though that she didn’t share when the whole night was all said and done: Bill Clinton’s photobomb.
A picture from ABC News shows the former President peeking his head out to better see Kelly as she gets ready to sing.
We hope this one makes its way into her photo album.
